🎤 UAE Job Interview Guide
Prepare short truthful examples, understand the job and leave with clear information about salary, duties, hours and the next step.
Before the interview
- Verify company, address, interviewer and official contact.
- Read the job description and mark five requirements you can prove.
- Prepare printed CV, licence/certificate copies and originals for viewing.
- Plan route, parking/public transport and arrive 10–15 minutes early.
- Wear clean role-appropriate clothes and keep phone silent.
- Prepare a 30-second introduction and three work examples.
Strong answer structure
Use Situation → Action → Result. Keep the example relevant and specific.
| Question | Good answer direction |
|---|---|
| Tell me about yourself | Current role/experience, relevant skill, UAE knowledge/licence and why this job fits. |
| Why should we hire you? | Match 2–3 job requirements with evidence; do not say only “I work hard”. |
| Why did you leave? | Keep it factual and professional; focus on next-role fit, not attacking the old employer. |
| Expected salary? | Ask about the full package and duties; give a reasonable range only after understanding them. |
| When can you join? | State real visa/notice availability; never promise an illegal or impossible date. |
Driver and delivery questions
- How do you plan a route and handle delays?
- What vehicle checks do you perform before driving?
- What do you do after an accident or breakdown?
- How do you protect cash, documents, parcels and customer privacy?
- How do you handle an angry customer without unsafe driving?
- Describe a time you found a vehicle problem early.
Good answers prioritise safety, company procedure, documentation and calm communication.
Questions you should ask
- What are the exact duties and work location?
- What is basic salary and which allowances/benefits are separate?
- What are normal duty hours, break, weekly rest and overtime arrangements?
- Who provides visa/work permit, insurance, transport, accommodation and tools/vehicle?
- How is performance measured and what deductions can occur?
- What are probation and notice terms?
- When will I receive the written offer and official contract?
Practical tests
- Confirm test purpose and insurance/authorisation before driving a vehicle.
- Do not perform unpaid productive work disguised as a long “trial”.
- For skills tests, follow safety instructions and do not operate equipment you are not licensed/trained to use.
- Never hand over original passport, licence or certificates without understanding and documenting the reason.
After the interview
- Write salary, hours, duties and promises while fresh.
- Send one short thank-you/follow-up message.
- Verify any offer independently and compare it with the official contract.
- Do not resign or pay money based only on a verbal offer.
- Reject pressure to sign blank, unreadable or different documents.
No genuine selection result requires you to share OTP, bank PIN or pay a “refundable” interview/visa deposit to a personal account.
