🚫 UAE Job Scam Safety
Pause when an offer creates urgency, asks for money or requests sensitive information before the employer and vacancy can be independently verified.
Common scam patterns
- Job offered without a real interview or skills check
- Very high salary for simple work with no requirements
- “Refundable” interview, registration, security, training, uniform, medical or visa fee sent to a person
- Recruiter using free email, copied logo or misspelled company domain
- Fake offer letter with stamps but no verifiable official transaction
- Request for OTP, bank login, card details or remote-control app
- Meeting only in hotel lobby, café or residential room with no verified office
- Threat that the offer expires in minutes unless money is transferred
Seven-step verification
- Do not use links or phone numbers in the message first.
- Find the company's official website independently.
- Call its published landline or HR contact and confirm recruiter/vacancy.
- Compare the complete email domain character by character.
- Verify legal company/licence details with the relevant authority.
- Check official offer/contract/work-permit information through MOHRE or the correct free-zone authority.
- Do not pay or resign until the written, verified process is clear.
Protect your documents

- Watermark copies: “For [Company] job application only – [date]”.
- Do not send both sides of cards unless required by a verified process.
- Never share UAE Pass, email or banking OTPs.
- Review file metadata/photos so unrelated personal information is not exposed.
If you already paid or shared details
- Contact the bank/payment provider immediately and ask whether the transfer can be stopped or flagged.
- Change compromised passwords; enable multi-factor authentication.
- If UAE Pass, SIM or banking details are at risk, contact the official provider immediately.
- Save chats, phone numbers, emails, receipts, account details, links and documents; do not edit screenshots.
- Report through the relevant UAE police/cybercrime channel and inform the impersonated company.
- Do not pay a second “recovery agent” who promises guaranteed return of funds.
Safe rule for recruitment costs
Official UAE guidance states job seekers should not be required to pay recruitment agencies for placement and warns against labour/visa fraud. Confirm current rules through the UAE Government job-search guidance and MOHRE.
A stamp, logo, PDF or caller ID is not proof. Verification must come from an independently opened official/company channel.
