Common payment models

Model Advantage Main risk
Fixed monthly salary More predictable income Long hours or targets may be hidden
Salary + commission Base protection plus incentive Commission conditions and failed orders
Per order Higher earning potential in dense/busy areas No-order time, distance and expenses can reduce profit
Daily/weekly target Simple target Penalties, unpaid returns or unrealistic routes

Calculate real monthly income

Gross delivery income = paid completed orders × rate per order + fixed salary/bonus.

Net before personal living costs = gross income − fuel − vehicle rent/installment − maintenance reserve − tyres − insurance/registration share − phone/data − parking/tolls − work-related deductions.

  1. Ask for real average orders in your exact assigned area, not the company's best rider.
  2. Calculate low, normal and busy scenarios.
  3. Divide net income by total duty hours to find the real hourly return.
  4. Keep a reserve for repairs and low-order days.
