š„ Health Insurance for Visa
Confirm the policy is real, active and suitable for the visa/emirateāthen understand where it can actually be used.
1. Check the policy details
- Member name, Emirates ID/passport number and date of birth
- Insurer, administrator/TPA, policy/member number and start/end date
- Sponsor/employer and applicable emirate or visa requirement
- Network, copay, deductible, exclusions and approval rules
2. Verify coverage before treatment
- Use the insurer/TPA app, portal or customer-care number printed on the card.
- Search the current network for your city and required specialty.
- Call the clinic/hospital with the exact plan/member number; network access can differ even under the same insurer.
- For non-emergency treatment, ask whether pre-approval is required.
- Keep claim, approval and rejection references.
3. COC, cancellation and an old policy
A Certificate of Continuity (COC), cancellation document, policy certificate and visa cancellation are different records. āNo data foundā for one reference does not prove that a fine, debt or another policy disappeared. Ask the old insurer/sponsor for written cancellation and the new insurer for active-policy confirmation.
4. Changing emirate or sponsor
- Do not assume a Dubai-linked plan covers every Al Ain/Abu Dhabi hospital.
- Confirm whether the old sponsor must cancel the old policy and whether the new sponsor has registered the new one.
- Ask the relevant health/immigration authority about any gap, fine or linking problem using written references.
- Never pay a āfineā to a personal account without an official invoice and verifiable channel.
Emergency: Seek emergency assistance first. Insurance network and reimbursement rules should be confirmed with the provider/insurer for your exact situation.
