❌ Visa Cancellation & Grace Period

1. Understand separate cancellations

• Work permit/employment record: handled through MOHRE or the relevant free-zone authority.
• Residence visa: handled through ICP or GDRFA Dubai.
• Health insurance: may need separate action by the sponsor/insurer.
• Dependants: may need cancellation or status action before the sponsor's residence is cancelled.

2. Before signing

• Read any cancellation/settlement form and check salary, leave, notice and end-of-service entries.
• Do not sign that you received money unless you actually received and verified it.
• Return company property and keep a signed receipt.
• Save the work-permit cancellation, residence cancellation and final settlement separately.

3. Confirm the grace period

1. Obtain the official cancellation document and date.
2. Check the residence/file status with ICP or GDRFA/Amer.
3. Ask the authority for your exact last legal date; grace periods vary by residence category and circumstances.
4. Before that date, complete a valid new status/residence or leave the UAE as applicable.

4. Moving to a new employer

Give the new authorised representative the cancellation proof and correct passport copy. Track the new application yourself. “Submitted” or “entry issued” may not mean the full residence process is complete; confirm medical, ID, insurance and final residence stages.
