⚠️ Overstay & Status Correction
Confirm the problem, amount and legal solution through the authority responsible for your file.
1. Collect your evidence
- Passport, UID/file details and old/new visa documents
- Entry, expiry or cancellation dates
- Application and payment receipts
- Messages showing delays or returned applications
- Sponsor/typing-centre details
2. Check officially
- Identify whether ICP or GDRFA Dubai owns the file.
- Use its fine/file inquiry service or visit/contact an authorised customer centre.
- Confirm the calculation dates and reason before paying.
- Pay only through the official channel and retain the receipt.
- Recheck the file after payment or correction.
3. If the record looks wrong
Do not keep submitting duplicate applications. Take the cancellation, entry/exit, new application and payment evidence to ICP/GDRFA/Amer and request clarification or correction. For employer/work-permit issues, also contact MOHRE or the free-zone authority.
4. Scam warnings
- Never send money to a personal bank account for “system removal.”
- No agent can guarantee an amnesty, waiver or approval without an official programme/decision.
- Do not share UAE Pass credentials or allow remote phone access.
- Check every receipt and reference on the authority's own system.
Why no fixed amount here? Fine rules and special programmes can change. The figure shown for your own file on the responsible official channel is what matters.
What to take when asking for a correction
- A dated timeline: last entry, previous residence expiry or cancellation, and each new application submission/return/approval.
- Passport details, UID or file number and the official fine inquiry result for the correct issuing authority.
- Cancellation proof, status-change or exit/entry evidence, receipts and messages showing a system or sponsor delay.
- A short written request identifying the disputed dates and asking for the proper review or correction service.
Get an official case/reference number and ask how to track it. If your permitted stay may expire while a request is under review, ask the immigration authority what you must do in the meantime; a complaint does not automatically pause a fine or legal deadline. Related: cancellation and grace period.
