🛂 Employment Visa Process
Understand each usual stage from a genuine job offer to an active UAE residence.
1. Before the application
- Verify the employer, job title, salary, allowances, work location and who pays official recruitment costs.
- Mainland private-sector employment normally involves MOHRE; a free-zone authority manages its own process.
- Read the offer before signing. Never sign blank pages or give anyone your UAE Pass password or OTP.
- Your passport should meet the validity requested for the application; the name and passport number must match every form.
2. Usual processing order
- Employer obtains the relevant work permit/entry authorisation.
- If you are inside the UAE, the sponsor completes the permitted in-country status step; do not assume an airport trip is always required.
- Complete approved medical fitness screening when required.
- Complete Emirates ID application and biometrics when requested.
- Meet the applicable health-insurance requirement.
- Immigration issues/finalises residence; check the digital residence details and Emirates ID record.
3. Documents to keep
- Signed job offer and official employment contract
- Passport and clear personal photo
- Work-permit/entry or status-change document
- Medical result, Emirates ID application/PRAN and biometric receipt
- Insurance certificate/policy number
- Residence approval/eVisa and payment receipts
4. How to know it is complete
A typing-centre message alone is not final proof. Confirm that the residence record is active through the correct immigration authority, verify your personal details, and check the updated digital documents in ICP/UAE Pass or GDRFA channels as applicable. Keep the PDF or screenshot securely.
Stop and verify: Do not begin illegal work merely because someone says “the file is submitted.” Confirm the employer has the required work authorisation for your case.
